14th March 2025

Bird nesting season has now begun (March-July inclusive) which means our activities have moved from the centre of the woodlands and are, once again, concentrating on path sides.

Our 19 volunteers returned to lower path and clocked up 55 hours in four separate groups:

  1. Protecting the wildflower area with dead hedging.

  2. Removing holly and cherry Laurel saplings from verges.

  3. Clearing ditches and drains.

  4. Maintaining and clearing the pathway.

What a wonderful session - the sun was shining, the conversation was flowing, we worked with some different volunteers and had the opportunity to learn new skills. And that’s in addition to the exercise and feeling a sense of achievement!
