Walk to Explore the Great Houses of Oxleas Woodlands

In recent weeks, Friends of Oxleas Woodlands (FOW) organised two walks that had to be postponed at the last minute and rearranged.
Although a smaller number of participants were able to go on these walks, they were hugely successful.

"Many thanks for organising this walk / talk (aside from everything else [the Friends do]), it is a must for all those who frequent the woods or live locally and haven't yet visited.
Tom took us through time and place, from Eltham to Plumstead, back from the middle ages to the 1980's grand house demolitions... into the lives of so many interesting characters and across many areas - architectural, transport, scientific, legal, and social history.
Having lived here and walked our dogs in the woods for 25 years I had absolutely no idea I was passing on or near the footprint of 4 of these homes and knew little about the 2 visible ones.
It was splendid to see the folder of images of the houses and occupants.
