It was a nice stroll around Jack and Oxleas Woods focusing mainly on improvements to paths, creating ponds, coppicing and protected areas.

Unfortunately most of the bluebells were not at their best. We did however see some Marsh Marigold and loads of tadpoles in the big pond near the junction of Welling Way.

We also met several individual small green caterpillars suspending themselves by a tiny thread from tree to head height. We were not sure whether they were trying to get to the ground or creating enough thread to spin into a cocoon.
