Shepherdleas Wood - Bluebell Slopes

Six dedicated volunteers, 3 hours each spent working, means 18 more hours devoted to improving biodiversity in Shepherdleas Wood.

Woodland Conservation is sociable and good fun too!
Woodland Conservation is sociable and good fun too!

The bluebells on the slopes behind Berry Hill have now completely died back giving us the opportunity to tackle the brambles before they spread too much.  They are a competitive species which outperforms other ground vegetation. Removing it in some areas, and reducing it in others, will give both bluebells and other woodland plants a greater chance of growing and, therefore, improving the ecology of this special area.

Thanks Volunteers!
